October 17, 2024, marks a key moment in our history: GeneXus Enterprise AI took a step forward and officially changed its name to Globant Enterprise AI.

But before explaining the reason for the name change, I want to share the story of how it all started.

GeneXus Enterprise AI
was born in 2022, the same year the technological revolution driven by
Generative Artificial Intelligence
exploded. It started as an internal tool to facilitate the creation and maintenance of AI assistants for
GeneXus Next
. Soon, we realized that if it was good for us, it would also be useful for any company that wanted to incorporate AI into their systems. In fact, it proved to be so powerful that we turned it into a product so that any company could integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into their systems, while maintaining a good level of independence and control over the AI and its uses within the company. It was a different product because it could be used in any system, regardless of whether it was developed with GeneXus or another technology.

We considered many names for this platform (and in the team, everyone still has their favorite). At first, we called it “the AI Middleware” (obviously, we needed to improve), then “
GEBrain
” (for GeneXus Enterprise Brain), and in its most daring and stable version for a while: SAIA (the “Spine of Artificial Intelligence Applications”). This name stuck as a code name when we decided to commercialize it, and we leveraged its history, renaming it GeneXus Enterprise AI.

We started with great expectations, betting everything on its adoption by projects and companies both within and outside the GeneXus community. We knew that the more it was used, the more we could improve the product. We aimed high, and reality exceeded our expectations.

This growth, which began with the GeneXus community and extended into the Globant ecosystem, allowed GeneXus Enterprise AI to evolve and be fully adopted by the company. With this rise, the time came to rebrand it as Globant Enterprise AI, a change that reflects its importance within GeneXus’ AI strategy and aligns us with the intelligent digital transformation projects that Globant is driving worldwide.

As Globant Enterprise AI is an agnostic platform, it quickly adapts to changes and technological advancements, allowing companies to adopt artificial intelligence with independence, without being tied to a single solution or provider. The flexibility and ability to switch between different technologies, models, and providers, along with its capacity to create intelligent conversational flows and AI assistant chains, are the characteristics that define this platform’s success in such a dynamic environment.

Globant Enterprise AI will continue to be technically led by the GeneXus team, with Eugenio García as its Product Manager. Together with Globant, we will help companies overcome the challenges of incorporating AI into their systems and processes in an agile, secure, and supervised way.
